Things are going smoothly here at the Idea House! As we work to start framing, we must first attend to the tremendous amount of preparation work on the basement slab.

Here, we backfilled the interior with free draining compactible fill.
The next step consisted of the installation of the plumbing drains, which were embedded in sand and inspected below grade.
We then backfilled the plumbing trenches and water settled the backfill with sprinklers.
Then, we installed electrical conduits under slab (floor outlets), applied 8 mil vapor barrier and fully insulated with R-10 rigid insulation (except at bearing points).
Here, we installed a pressure treated 3×12 plate and spray foam insulation underside for thermal break.
