Update time! The Idea House is now 80% complete and we are as excited as ever to share with you all the amazing work that has been taking place on site. In this update, we are going to show you wildlife, fencing, fireplaces, the media room, the climbing wall, and more.
As we’ve mentioned in previous updates, the Idea House is nestled in a wetland area that is home to several plant and animal species. Wetlands are a valuable resource here in King County and are one of the most productive of biological systems, providing habitat for all kinds of wildlife. How lucky are we to have this in our backyard?
New mortised fencing has been built surrounding the Idea House, adding some rustic charm to this new development. This fence marks the property’s extensive boundary with the public trail (Collin Creek) that runs through the neighborhood. This cedar wood fence is rich in color and texture, and will only get better with age. Thank you, D&L Fence!
The Idea House features two Genesis Series fireplaces, each surrounded by Dekton slabs. Dekton is a blend of raw materials used to produce quality surfaces with Sinterized Particle Technology. This technology is “a high tech process which represents an accelerated version of the metamorphic change that natural stone undergoes when subjected to high temperatures”, making these slabs great for fireplaces. Pictured below is the fireplace in the master bedroom; the talented professionals of Fireside Home Solutions completed this install wonderfully!
Something we haven’t talked much about is the luxury media room in the lower level of the Idea House. This home theater comes equipped with 120″+ display, surround sound, wet bar, wine fridge, and large comfy recliners.
The wet bar is a site for sore eyes- gorgeous slab work and classy cabinetry complimented by an elegant copper backsplash. Thank you Scrivanich, Cosentino, and Bellmont Cabinet Co. for your contributions to this masterpiece!

In the shift to post-pandemic architecture, we are seeing home gyms become extremely prevalent. We have incorporated an incredibly spacious exercise room into this project, and were lucky enough to acquire some great equipment from local businesses. Along with some of the more common pieces of exercise equipment, we have added some unique touches, like the climbing wall pictured below. We are so excited for you to see what we have in store for this space!
The downstairs spa bath has gotten an update! Recent additions include shower tiles, floating benches, the vanity and sink install, and accent tiling behind the vanity. This bathroom is an absolute dream– not only does it look beautiful, it comes with the Mr. Steam iDream package with chromatherapy, aromatherapy, and speakers. Isn’t she lovely?! Oh yeah, and as an added bonus, it sits across the hall from it’s very own Finnleo Infared Dry Sauna– thank you Aquaquip!
How cool are these smart switches from Leviton?! These switches have been installed all throughout the Idea House and have some very impressive capabilities. The Decora Smart Switch let’s you control your lighting in the palm of your hand with smart technology; compatible with Amazon Alexa or Google Home – no hub required!
